Housing 1 246Resources to help you respond to local housing need

From Housing Justice

The Archbishop of Canterbury’s Commission on Housing, Church and Community was launched in April 2019 with the remit of re-imagining housing policy. As well as making recommendations for Government and other key actors in the housing market, it was tasked with looking at what actions the Church of England could take, in partnership with others, to help tackle the crisis at local, regional, and national level.

The Commission partnered with Housing Justice to release resources to empower churches to respond to the local housing need of their area. The varied programmes shown in the resources provide an approach for almost every church. They are grouped as follows:

  • How to use these Resources
  • Why should churches respond to housing need?
  • What response is right for your church?
  • What can you do as an individual?
  • Not ready to set up a new project?
  • Why churches should take risks
  • How to get funding
  • Building relationships with others – advice for churches
  • Working with churches – advice for potential partners
